THE SCIENCE OF SMELLS

How neutralisation works

A precise technical process designed to eliminates bad odours from their molecular structure, without masking them.

1

Odour analysis

Each bad odour comes from a distinct chemical family. We identify the predominant compounds to determine the exact solution your space requires.

2

Formula and Application System

We select from our specific formulas and integrate them into the ideal format: continuous diffusion, direct application or sublimation.

3

MOLECULAR NEUTRALISATION

The active molecules react chemically with those of the bad odour, permanently transforming them into odourless and imperceptible compounds.

Neutraliser or air freshener?

They are two distinct products, with two distinct objectives. It is best not to confuse them.

Air freshener

Mask the smell

Air-dispensed agent that creates a feeling of comfort following aromatic preferences. It does not eliminate molecules: it requires saturating the environment to mask the unwanted odour.

Neutraliser

Eliminate the odour

Chemical agent dispensed into the air to solve a problem: eliminating foul-smelling molecules. Each neutralising molecule eliminates a malodorous one, so there is no need to saturate.

How bad odours are measured

In olfactometry, the technique that measures odours, five parameters are used to describe and evaluate a bad odour. They allow them to be classified and prioritised for elimination according to their impact on the environment.

01

Intensity

How strong the smell is perceived.

02

Frequency

How often it occurs: continuous, occasional or episodic.

03

Duration

How long it remains perceptible in the air.

04

Offensiveness

Level of rejection it generates in the user, ranging from tolerable to repulsive.

05

Hedonic tone

Emotional charge associated with the smell: pleasant, neutral or unpleasant.

A molecular spectrum for each formula

The formulas act on a broad spectrum of odorous compounds. Each one is positioned along three axes: fatty acids, amines and mercaptans. All four formulas can be used with all of our application systems.

Focused spectrum

Household, chemical or human-derived odours associated with volatile organic compounds, hydrocarbons and sulphur derivatives.

Eliminate odours from

Sweat, toilet (faecal) odours, smoke, paint

Scent note

Talc

Focused spectrum

It interacts with nitrogenous compounds and fatty acids, and with persistent damp environments.

Eliminate odours from

Tobacco, pets, fish, dampness

Scent note

Aloe vera

Broad spectrum

Typical cooking odours, decomposing organic matter and fried food.

Eliminate odours from

Rubbish, food, frying, organic decomposition

Scent note
